An oral history interview conducted on September 6, 2017, with Thonius Robinson, Jr. of Baker, Louisiana. Robinson, a native of Washington, Louisiana, served in the United States Army for 25 years, including two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He discusses: his ROTC training at Southern University in Baton Rouge; his three-year tour in Germany; helping to develop the Air Assault Division at Fort Benning, Georgia; his role as an advisor in the Kien Van Sub Sector during his first tour in Vietnam; his role as an executive officer of a battalion stationed near the Black Virgin Mountain during his second tour; his memory of losing four men in a rocket attack; his post-Vietnam military career; and the importance of listening to the men in the trenches.
